Fort William World Cup DH 2016
The sun was blazing down on the breathtaking highland views for what will go down in history as one of the most memorable Downhill World Cup races ever to take place in Fort William.
It was the final Fort William World Cup for our own hometown hero Steve Peat, closing a chapter on his incredible race career which includes 17 World Cup wins and a World Champion title. It was also a day to celebrate the life of one of the most inspirational riders out there, the late, great, Steve Smith.
The racing was hectic as always. Perfect track conditions led to some storming run times, with Greg Minnaar confirming his status as the ‘Greatest of all time’ by taking the win in the Mens. Rachel Atherton continued her domination in the Womens title, taking the win by over 12 seconds!
The Bike Rehab team took a few days off to head up to the Highlands to ride the local trails and take in the atmosphere from the best event on the calendar, here’s some of the action.
