Peaty’s Steel City Downhill 2016

  • 06/05/2016
Building on the success of previous years, Peaty’s Steel City Downhill returned bigger and better for it’s sixth year. The event is a grassroots mountain bike race that was conceived to fund trail building and maintenance in Grenoside woods. The event has gained momentum every year and attracts riders from all over the country. It allows everyone, from amateurs to world champions to complete on the fast and fun downhill trail.

This year we were proud to sponsor the event, giving £350 worth of prizes for the racers. Alex also took to the track this year and raced in the masters category, with Oskar and Rich in full heckle mode at the side of the course.

The success of the event is thanks to the hard work of organisers, Ride Sheffield, Nick Hamilton, Henry Norman, Steve Hardcastle and of course the Sheffield mountain bike Legend, Steve Peat. The team have managed to create the most fun downhill race on the calendar, and the spectators give it the best atmosphere. A huge thanks goes out to everyone who raced, organised, supported or spectated this year to make it the best yet!
